Ted Cruz goes on bizarre rant about college degrees in “queer pet literature”

In a rant against President Biden’s student-debt relief plan, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said working people are being “screwed by the Democrats” by being forced to pay for the educations of people who studied “queer pet literature.”

On his podcast, Verdict, Cruz also took aim at “slacker” baristas with college degrees.

“Is every barista a slacker? Of course not,” Cruz said. “There are wonderful, great people who are baristas, who by the way many of whom don’t have student loans that are getting screwed by the Democrats because they’re saying the guy who studied queer pet literature and has $100,000 in debt because oddly enough, to reference another podcast, Mickey and Pluto going at it, other than getting a job at Disney there’s not a lot of job market for queer pet literature.”

It seems Cruz has a significant preoccupation with queer animals.

In an April episode of Verdict (that he referenced in the above quote), Cruz attacked Disney with the bizarre accusation that they’re going to make Mickey Mouse and his dog Pluto have sex “in every episode now” since the company expressed support for more LGBTQ content.

“In every episode now, they’re gonna have Mickey and Pluto going at it, like really?” Cruz said at the time.

And now Cruz has brought it all full circle, suggesting that the hordes of students who allegedly study “queer pet literature” are unemployable unless Disney is hiring.
